Leaders are not made by human hand.
Instead, they are born with a character trait that can be developed through education, training and hard work. Leaders come into being by their own unique nature and make good use of their talents, emerging as competent members of any organization. Not everyone can be a leader; in fact, very few exist. Most are found in the business world, military services or law enforcement–where the rubber meets the road! In the real world of success and failure–life and death, competition separates the leaders from the managers and their cousins, the supervisors. There’s a distinct difference between these three concepts. You may have good managers, even good supervisors, but leaders? That’s something special. You don’t inherit this quality, delegate it or have it handed to you. Neither do you have it by virtue of promotion or election. You can’t buy it or give it away. The essence of a leader is mixed and molded by physical and mental traits, intelligence level, aptitude and temperament.

Leaders inspire others.
Forged by the strife of life, leaders learn to set an example. Not only do they care about

Realistic tactics for edged weapons

Edged weapons are personal weapons and as such, the attacker has to get close to do damage. He is most likely not going to come running at you from some great distance. Normally, he’ll wait until one of you closes the gap before making his assault.

Think about the distances at which you work. Do you ask someone for identification from 21 feet away? Are you able to handcuff someone from a distance of 21 feet?

Of course not. It’s the nature of our business to be up close and personal. I wish there was some way to stay out of that 21 foot kill zone, but there isn’t.

PentagonLight's new MOLLE Light

PentagonLight, a leading producer of handheld and weapons-mounted light systems in the US, recently introduced a small handheld light called the MOLLE Light. MOLLE, as most Police Marksman readers are aware of, stands for modular lightweight load-carrying equipment, a system introduced to the US military several years ago. This system consists of nylon or Kevlar reinforced straps attached to packs, vests, etc. that allow the fastening of magazine pouches, radio pouches and virtually any type of carrying case that has a clip that can be attached to the MOLLE straps.
